Basketball Fans React To Bradley Beal’s Free Agent Decision

July 18, 2025 by The Spun

The 5 Craziest Trades In NBA History (2:14)

After a disappointing stint with the Phoenix Suns Bradley Beal is reportedly heading even further out west.

On Wednesday the three-time All-Star agreed to a contract buyout with Matt Ishbia’s team and plans to join the LA Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option, per ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.

The inner workings of the deal will allow Beal to be one of the top free agents next summer should he choose to leave Los Angeles.

Fans reacted to Beal’s big move on X.

“RING US,” a user exclaimed. “#ClipperNation.”

“today is a good day,” another said.

“I thought the Clippers were dead in the water when Paul George left,” CBS’ Sam Quinn replied. “All they’ve done since is build a legitimate championship contender that can generate max cap space basically whenever they want to. Just an incredible year of front office work.”

“Phoenix eating $100+M and crippling themselves for 5 years, instead of waiting for one year and trading Beal’s expiring is why I love Matt Ishbia,” a Nuggets fan shared.

“THE LEAGUE REALLY LET US GET THIS DEMON FOR FREE 🔥” another fan posted.

“Happy for Brad, maybe people can stop negatively talking about his contract like it is some personal character flaw, instead of a business deal he was offered that anyone would accept,” another person commented. “Still rooting for him.”

“LFG!!!”

Beal averaged 17.6 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds on 50.5% shooting in his two seasons with the Suns — a far cry from the production he was consistently putting up in Washington.

Some of that had to do with injuries but now the 32-year-old veteran will get some fresh air in Hollywood.
