The NBA Draft is no stranger to intriguing French prospects, especially since the last two number-one picks were Victor Wembanyama and Zaccharie Risacher. This year’s draft is no different as there are several talented French prospects. However, one prospect stands out as he has risen up the draft boards over the past few months. That prospect is KK Cedevita center Joan Beringer, who has impressive athleticism and physical tools. Standing at six-foot-nine, Beringer possesses excellent quickness and athleticism for a center, making him extremely mobile on both ends. He can make nasty blocks on one end then turn around can catch highlight lobs on the other. Someone like Beringer will always have suitors in the NBA Draft. Let’s dive into the best fits for Joan Beringer in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Best Fits For Joan Beringer In The 2025 NBA Draft
Atlanta Hawks
A team that Beringer would fit well on is the Atlanta Hawks. On the team side, they need a long-term solution at the five due to Clint Capela significantly declining due to age (and about to enter free agency). They do have Onyeka Okongwu, however, they still need extra help in the middle. Beringer can bring his athleticism and quickness on the defensive end while simultaneously using those traits to be the lob threat next to Trae Young. His athletic profile and skills fit perfectly in what Atlanta wants from a big. Beringer himself will benefit immensely from playing next to Young and his incredible abilities. He will get many easy opportunities to score from the looks Young will give him. There is a clear fit between Beringer and the Hawks.
Indiana Pacers
Another team with an exciting point guard that Beringer would fit on is the Indiana Pacers. The team has a specific need for a backup center behind Myles Turner. None of the options that they had previously worked out especially well or were not the best fits. Beringer’s athleticism and physical tools will give the Pacers a defensive option at center, which is something that they have lacked. Also, his athleticism makes him a prime lob target for Tyrese Haliburton and would fit well in Indiana’s fast-break attack. He would be a big threat in transition due to his quickness and fluidity. Similar to the Hawks, Beringer will get to play next to an elite point guard in Haliburton. Just like Young, Haliburton will get Beringer many great scoring opportunities. Also, Beringer has a clear path to minutes for the team due to their backup center needs.
Phoenix Suns
Despite the uncertain future of the Phoenix Suns, they would make a good landing spot for Beringer. Specifically, they need a long-term solution at center and someone who can provide a defensive presence in the paint. Beringer is one of the youngest players in the draft and can be with the Suns for a long time. Plus, he has flashed great potential as a defensive anchor, which is something that the Suns desperately need. Given the dismal state of Phoenix basketball, Beringer will not have a difficult time finding real minutes with the team. Also, playing next to Devin Booker will give him many good looks due to the sheer attention that Booker will draw from the defense.
