I’m LIVE on the @SportingTrib’s X talking about NBA free agency, where Damian Lillard might end up and could he be in LA, when will Chris Paul sign with the Clippers, when will Deandre Ayton sign with the Lakers and who has the best chance to win a title? x.com/i/broadcasts/1… – 12:17 AM

A little odd that Chris Paul is still out there. That Clippers backup point guard job is there for him. – 10:52 PM

Underrated part of Collin Gillespie returning: If the Suns do indeed find a way to make a Chris Paul reunion happen, can you imagine a cerebral guy like that getting to learn from the Point God? Even if it’s only on a 1-year deal, that’s pretty enticing – 1:05 PM

I think Deandre Ayton has a JaVale McGree track in him. Just a giant athlete belied by his unseriousness. Having to play through minimums might streamline his game the way CP did for him in 2021. – 11:48 PM

As many others have said in recent weeks, there is very little wavering right now in the belief around the league that Chris Paul will play next season — and play in Los Angeles, to be with his kids as much as possible.
(This has an obvious follow-up question, of course.) – 2:25 PM

Brandon Rahbar: Sam Presti: “Chris Paul is another guy. He’s obviously not just a factor in our history but basketball in Oklahoma.. We played Russell in the playoffs. For him to be in the building in these situations, you have to look back on it and take it all in.” -via Twitter @BrandonRahbar / June 30, 2025
Kyrie Irving’s acceptance of a three-year, $119 million contract — taking a pay cut for this season after declining his $43 million player option — allowed the Mavericks to maintain access to the $5.7 million taxpayer midlevel exception. The plan for that slot is to sign a lead guard who can start while Irving recovers from his torn left ACL and transition to a key reserve role upon the nine-time All-Star’s return. Candidates include D’Angelo Russell, Malcolm Brogdon, Chris Paul and Tyus Jones, sources said. (The Mavs had interest in Dennis Schroder, but he is expected to command a significantly higher salary.) -via ESPN / June 30, 2025
