Even though Chris Paul could not participate in the Phoenix Suns‘ Game 2 win on Tuesday night, he was still fired up about the result.
Paul remains sidelined in the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols. Without him, the Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-103 on a last second alley-oop to Deandre Ayton to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
Ayton’s game-winning bucket came on a baseline out of bounds play with less than one second remaining. Devin Booker set a sturdy backscreen, Jae Crowder tossed a perfect lob pass and Ayton slammed it home for the victory.
After the play, CP3 reacted on Twitter much like everybody else who witnessed the thrilling ending. He showed off how happy he was, while also praising head coach Monty Williams for his play design.

With the win, Phoenix moves closer to its first NBA Finals berth in 28 years. They might be getting a massive boost to their lineup soon as well.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin and Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns are hopeful that Paul will be cleared to rejoin the team before Game 3 on Thursday. The star point guard has been isolated for the last week after a positive COVID-19 test.
Paul is reportedly vaccinated, which would enable him to return sooner than the NBA’s 10-to-14 day quarantine for individuals who test positive.
