Chris Paul remains in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, and the opening betting lines have remained in the Phoenix Suns’ favor over the Los Angeles Clippers for Game 2 on Tuesday.
It’s another home game for the Suns, who opened as six-point favorites for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
The line for Phoenix on the morning before Game 2 has slipped to -5 or -5.5 for most online betting services. That’s still slightly above the -5 opening line in the Suns’ favor for Game 1 that moved to -4 before tipoff.
Phoenix cleared that by beating the Clippers 120-114 on Sunday.
What that result did change was the over/under.
Oddsmakers set a Game 1 over/under of 221.5, but that has grown to 224 for the second game of the series. The Clippers’ last five games have seen the total hit the over.
Los Angeles is 0-5 in Games 1 and 2 of series this playoff run thus far, having fallen behind both the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz 2-0 in the first two rounds. But the Clippers are 8-1 straight up and against the spread in Games 3-7 of their first two series.
As for Phoenix, it has won eight games in a row — a franchise playoff record — and is 8-0 against the spread over that span as well.
