Gene Traylor, a current employee of the Phoenix Suns, is suing the team for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, reported Baxter Holmes of ESPN.
Traylor is the team’s director of safety, security and risk management.
It is the fourth lawsuit filed against the Suns by a current or former employee in the past seven months.
Traylor says he submitted a presentation to management outlining specific incidents surrounding the Suns and Mercury in 2023. Traylor alleges that the Suns retaliated against him following the presentation, and demoted him in 2024.
“These allegations are delusional and categorically false,” a team spokesperson told ESPN on Thursday.
The lawsuit also states that the team failed two security field tests where plainclothes officers entered the arena with handguns and knives.
The team also failed numerous other security audits, according to sources.
