Turning the page to chapter two, the Nike Book 2 mockup is now out in the open for all to see.
With chapter one coming to a close, Devin Booker and Nike are ready to turn the page and begin the next one with the Nike Book 2.
The Nike Book 1, I believe it’s safe to say, has been very successful, despite early criticism and backlash. The Nike Book 1 thrived with elite traction, solid rear-foot cushioning, and lock-in stability. One of the main focuses of the shoe was to have a timeless classic feel to it, and it’s safe to say Nike and Booker executed that very well.
The Nike Book 1 ranked fourth in minutes amongst all shoes and brands worn on-court in the NBA, with 40,749 minutes. They were to most worn shoe in the Conference Finals.

Chapter 2
The Nike Book 2 has a lot to live up to, but over time, I think people will come around, just like they did with the first. It’ll be the same story: hate it till you try it. Then, suddenly, it’s a favorite.
The Nike Book 2 will feature some remarkable tech, such as a mesh upper, Cushlon 3.0 midsole, forefoot Zoom Air, herringbone-inspired outsole, and ZoomX sockliner. If you’re not a sneaker head, that might not mean much to you, but trust me, that is some impressive stuff.
Based on my personal experience with the Nike Book 1, I can say that I have yet to sprain my ankle (knock on wood), they have incredible grip, and make that squeaking noise every time you make a move with them. Now, when I had behind-the-scenes conversations about the Nike Book 2 way before any leaks came about, I was told they would be like the first edition but with some slight tweaks.
For example, this was the very first leaked image of the Nike Book 1:

As you can tell, this version is way different from today’s version of the Nike Book 1:

When comparing the final pair to the leaked version, there are some minor but noticeable differences. Just to name a few, the swoosh, for one, is significantly bigger and stretches towards the heel tag on the shoe.
My main point is that we can only take so much from leaks.
The Book 2? It looks like this:

When looking at the leak of the Nike Book 2, you can see that it looks very similar to the leak of the Nike Book 1. The silhouettes of the two leaks are almost identical to each other; they are both low-cut sneakers and have the same size swoosh as well. The Nike Book 2 is expected to release in Spring 2026 for $145 retail.
