Devin Booker hits dingers

Back, back, back…GONE!

The offseason is upon us, and with it comes that strange, empty feeling in the evenings. No Phoenix Suns games to fill the calendar, no nightly routines revolving around tip-off.

So we drift. Maybe you finally cleaned out the garage. Maybe you started that garden you swore you’d plant last spring. As for me? I’ve fallen deep into a digital rabbit hole with MLB The Show 25. I can’t stop. I love sports video games and don’t feel like playing basketball right now. I love baseball. And I know this will sting for some of you, but…go Dodgers.

Turns out I’m not the only one spending his downtime on the diamond.

Devin Booker, a longtime fan of his home state’s Detroit Tigers, recently posted a video to Instagram that caught my attention. The location was undisclosed. The vibe was very much “Booker in his element.” There he was, casually taking batting practice on a quiet field.

Then it happened. One pitch didn’t sit right with him, but the next? Booker turned on it. Absolutely launched it. Over the fence. Out of the park. Into orbit.

That’s right. Devin Booker hits dingers.

While most of us are letting the offseason lull wash over us, Booker’s out there doing what he does best. Making it all look easy. He’s not playing MLB The Show, he’s living it. Ripping moonshots into the sky like it’s just another Tuesday.

Time will tell if he brings that same power to the court when the stakes rise again. But for now? Maybe a pair of Book 1 baseball cleats isn’t too far-fetched.
