More basketball? Sign Devin Booker up!

This is the longest substantiated period of time that Devin Booker has played up to this point in his extraordinary Phoenix Suns career.

Led by sir Book himself, his Hall of Fame teammate Chris Paul, and a host of savvy vets and polished marksman, Phoenix has erupted into a miraculous stretch of feel-good basketball, carving out an immovable chunk of history in the team’s encyclopedia that none could’ve envisioned prior to the season’s inception.

Their latest installment in the glorious novel: an epic sweep of Denver, highlighted by raucous scuffles, rowdy fan moments and a rare display of high-rated team efficiency.

And while the team’s run is far from finished, the centerpiece of it all has already slotted his name into another season of competitive play.

Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Booker threw his name into the hat for Team USA’s 12-man roster ahead of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker has committed to join the 12-man Team USA roster for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, sources tell ESPN.

He joins a host of All-Stars who’ve already confirmed their participation, including Damian Lillard, Draymond Green (who collected a gold medal in 2016 in Rio De Janeiro), Jayson Tatum and Bradley Beal.

Green and Jayson Tatum are the only participants who have international experience for Team USA. Tatum was a member of the 2019 USA World Cup squad.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Jimmy Butler are the headlining names who have declined to join forces with the aforementioned group.

There are 57 total players who were tabbed as finalists for composition of the roster. Gregg Popovich will lead the troupe as they venture to Japan. He took over as head coach of the national team following the 2016 Olympics.
