Kevin Durant was not in the mood for insults from a Mavericks fan before tonight’s game in Dallas.
As Durant was taking the court for warmups, a fan underneath one of the baskets apparently called the Phoenix Suns superstar a derogatory word.
Durant stopped in his tracks and went back to have words with the fan, which you can see in the video below, courtesy of WFAA’s Jonah Javad.
“Mavs fan calls Kevin Durant ‘a b—h’ and KD pauses to have words. Security about to kick the fans out when KD comes back to tell them not to kick them out,” Javad wrote.
During the back-and-forth, the fans seem to realize Durant wasn’t stopping by to exchange pleasantries. One of them bizarrely begins to mention that they “host a podcast” before Durant jogs off.

“Don’t act like [that]. You’re a grownup,” Durant says in the second video.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an athlete confront a rude fan. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed here and Durant was gracious enough to tell security to let the pair stay.
On the court tonight, the hometown Mavs lead the Suns by 12 in the third quarter, thanks in large part to Luka Doncic’s 30 points. Durant so far has hit for 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
