The latest reports on the Suns and the second round of the NBA Draft.

It’s finally time for the NBA Draft. Follow along this thread here for the latest updates and insights on all things Phoenix Suns and the NBA Draft with staff writer Holden Sherman at the Barclays Center for the second round.

First Round Recap:

The Suns started yesterday night with two first-round picks and ended it with just one but beefed up their center position. They selected Duke Center Khaman Maluach with the 10th pick (who did an exclusive interview with Bright Side last night) and traded their 29th pick and a 2029 first for Charlotte Hornets Center Mark Williams, who also went to Duke and has a relationship with Maluach.

Yesterday’s live updates:

Holden will provide live updates as they occur. Continue to refresh as they come in!

With their pick they acquired from the Golden State Warriors earlier in the day, the Valley goes with Koby Brea, a senior 6’7” forward out of the University of Kentucky. Brea, 22, averaged 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on 47% from the field and 43.5% from three. Brea looks to be competing with with Flemming, Royce O’Neale and Ryan Dunn for minutes next season.

After trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets last week, Phoenix is thin on the wing.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading the first pick in tonight’s NBA draft — No. 31 — to the Phoenix Suns for No. 36 and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Suns continue rebuild by moving up to 31 and 41 in draft — send out 36, 52, 59 and two future seconds.
