Career So Far
Livers began his experience playing in Michigan while growing up and eventually played for the Michigan Wolverines for four seasons. This led to his selection in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft by his hometown team, the Detroit Pistons, with the 42nd pick. He then spent most of his rookie year recovering from a foot injury, but had some solid minutes for the Pistons that first year. After that, he had some good minutes within their rebuild.
The best night of his career came on March 11, 2023, when he posted 18 points against the Indiana Pacers. Unfortunately for Livers, though, his time with the Pistons did not last much longer, as he was traded to the Washington Wizards before the next season’s deadline.
When he was traded to Washington, it was announced he would miss the remainder of the season due to injuries, and then he was ultimately waived by the end of the 2024 season. All of last season, he spent time rehabbing to get back to NBA form and is now seeking that new opportunity with the Suns.
We saw one two-way contract in Collin Gillespie, who proved himself capable of securing a guaranteed deal. So, who says that cannot happen to Livers, who has already been in the NBA? I won’t count it out! The Suns are looking for new players and guys who can bring new energy to Phoenix, and they believe Livers can bring that for them.
