Phoenix Suns’ winning streak hits 15 after beating New York Knicks

November 27, 2021 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

The Phoenix Suns’ winning streak was extended to 15 games on Friday after a 118-97 win over the New York Knicks.

Suns shooting guard Devin Booker’s success playing in Madison Square Garden continued.

The seventh-year guard scored 21 of his 32 points in the first half, a charge that had Phoenix up by 13. He entered the night averaging 30.2 points per game in his six games at that arena.

The Suns’ defense kept up its stellar play during the run of wins, holding New York to 44 points and 37.8% shooting in the first half.

Phoenix extended its lead to 17 in the third quarter before closing out the game in the fourth, with the Knicks unable to bring the deficit to single digits.

All five Suns starters were in double figures, including Chris Paul (14 points and 10 assists) and Deandre Ayton (14 points and 13 rebounds).

The Suns will push forward with their pursuit of reaching the franchise’s record for a winning streak of 17. It’ll be a tough test, with a back-to-back concluding in Brooklyn against the Nets on Saturday. If Phoenix gets past them, it’s the Golden State Warriors at home on Tuesday, the only team in the NBA with a better record than the Suns.
