The NCAA Tournament returns to action this weekend, grabbing the attention of sports fans around the country. While there is no doubt the level of basketball doesn’t come close to the NBA, it’s easy to understand why there may be interest in the tournament among NBA fans.

According to the latest SB Nation Reacts survey, nearly two-thirds of NBA fans said they are watching the NCAA Tournament.

There are plenty of reasons for NBA fans to tune into the tournament. When asked what the main reason was for getting their attention, 35 percent of fans said they are watching to scout the next wave of young stars entering the pros. 56 percent of fans said they are watching primarily because of their fandom of either the college game itself or a specific team.

Unfortunately for fans looking to scout young players, the tournament’s best player may have already been bounced. Cade Cunningham and his Oklahoma State team lost in the second round.

54 percent of fans said Cunningham was the best prospect playing in the NCAA Tournament. The remaining stars will still be on display, however, with 22% saying Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs is the best prospect, 20% picking USC’s Evan Mobley, three percent for Arkansas’ Moses Moody and 2 percent for Scottie Barnes from Florida State.

Games pick back up in the Sweet Sixteen on Saturday and Sunday with the Elite Eight on Monday and Tuesday.
