This summer, another European star could make his return home, playing once again in the EuroLeague. It’s the case of Vasilije Micic, who has struggled to find playing minutes in the NBA and could seek a return where he once was one of the best players in the league. According to Meridian Sport, Real Madrid has entered the race for the 31-year-old Serbian guard, who last played in Europe with Anadolu Efes, with whom he won back-to-back EuroLeague titles.

More on this storyline
The first and clearest move Olympiacos must make—and has needed for years—is to add a guard who can truly make a difference. They don’t need to add just more “tools,” but someone who can create both for himself and for his teammates. And there is one player who would be ideal. We’re of course talking about Vasilije Micic. The Serbian guard wants to return to Europe and is looking for the right environment to do so. His quality is truly unbelievable, and he has already hurt Olympiacos in the past at Final Fours, even winning two consecutive EuroLeague titles with Efes. Olympiacos has spoken with him; he knows about their interest. However, he must hear and receive what he wants and needs in order to take that step. Without a doubt, the Angelopoulos brothers will have to dig deep into their pockets—but there is no other option. -via Sportime.gr / May 26, 2025
Phoenix Suns playmaker Vasilije Micic has committed to the national team, Los Angeles Clippers guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is also expected to join, and three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic might be on board as well — at least according to his teammate. “I’m optimistic. I think he will play,” Bogdanovic said about Jokic during EuroLeague Final Four media availability. “I don’t know. I think he will play.” -via BasketNews / May 23, 2025
Despite dismissing rumors linking him to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Serbian media, Phoenix Suns guard Vasilije Micic confirmed to BasketNews that there is interest between the EuroCup champions and former EuroLeague MVP. “For me, I never talked about that because, first of all, I am under contract. Second of all, I cannot forbid or allow people to talk,” he told BasketNews. “I always talk when I do something, when I sign something. That’s the moment before that. It’s just a rumor. Really, that’s really what’s going on.” -via BasketNews / May 23, 2025
