Things are starting to heat up in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Kevin Durant has three preferred trade destinations.
The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets are on his list and have been made aware that he’d commit long-term in these locations.

To be quite frank, the Suns shouldn’t give a damn. They need to do what’s best for them. That was my first reaction to seeing this tweet.
Thankfully, he followed it up shortly with this:
Durant is on an expiring $54.7 million deal for 2025-26, and the Suns have made clear to six-to-eight seriously interested teams that they will make the best deal for the franchise – even outside of his preferred list of Miami, San Antonio and Houston. https://t.co/rz2Imn2lnU

That is more like it. Look, if it works out and we can send him to a team he prefers, great. If not, the Suns need to look elsewhere and get the best return possible.
Bobby Marks followed this up with a pair of his own retweets that I think are notable. One for each offseason summary of the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. He did not share Houston’s, which could be something, could be nothing. I won’t read into that too much.

We could be nearing the day this deal finally goes down, so we can all move on and plan for the offseason ahead.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest as more comes in. Buckle up!
