The Phoenix Suns are actively seeking multiple trade partners in their pursuit of Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, with Bradley Beal’s contract remaining a significant obstacle in negotiations. While the Heat have reportedly lowered their asking price for Butler, they remain unwilling to take on Beal’s contract in any potential deal.
“They’re still searching for that third and fourth team,” said Bobby Marks. “A Butler to Phoenix trade straight for Bradley Beal, that is not going to happen.”
Complicating matters is Beal’s no-trade clause and substantial future salary commitments. Beal is owed $53.7 million in 2025-26 and holds a $57.1 million player option for 2026-27, which he is expected to exercise.
“There is skepticism around the league with him waiving that and that trade clause coming with it, certainly a deal breaker,” said Marks.
Miami’s newfound motivation on a Butler trade has not resolved the fundamental challenge of moving Beal’s contract, which would require finding additional teams willing to facilitate such a complex transaction.
