The Phoenix Suns will be without a key depth piece going forward, as forward Frank Kaminsky will be out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right knee.
Kaminsky has missed the Suns’ last two games and was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets before the team updated his status Sunday afternoon.
The big man has provided some much needed depth for head coach Monty Williams’ squad, as Kaminsky played a key role when starting center Deandre Ayton was out from Nov. 6 -14.
For the year, Kaminsky is averaging 10.6 points per game, as well as 4.6 rebounds.
On Nov. 11 against the Portland Trail Blazers, Kaminsky scored a career-high 31 points.
The injury could signal more added minutes for Javale McGee, who also stepped up for the Suns during Ayton’s absence.
Averaging 16.5 minutes a game, McGee has put up 10.1 points per contest to go along with 6.9 boards.
Riding an 11-game winning streak, the Suns take on the Nuggets on Sunday night at 6 p.m. You can catch all the action on ESPN 620 AM or 98.7 FM HD-2.
