Devin Booker may be short on words, but when it comes to playing alongside one of the greatest, he showed his appreciation for Kevin Durant in a heartfelt post
Quietly, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns made his way through the last couple of seasons alongside Kevin Durant.
After winning gold together during the 2024 Summer Olympics and spending two and a half seasons as teammates, both Durant and Booker are now going their separate ways, Durant heading to Houston, while Booker remains in Phoenix.
We may never fully understand the dynamic of their relationship behind the scenes, but one thing is clear: Booker will never forget their time together. He acknowledges that the last two and a half seasons meant something, even if it didn’t end the way they hoped.
Booker’s message wasn’t loud or dramatic, but it carried weight. In a recent Instagram post, he shared a quiet farewell, one that reflected respect, history, and perhaps a little bittersweet reflection. While fans may debate what could have been, Booker’s post made it clear: what they built still mattered.

I always believed that Booker and Durant were different when it came to their competitive fire and desire to win. I thought Durant was content with just playing ball, while Booker wanted more. He wanted to build something lasting in Phoenix.
At times, I even wondered if they could truly stand each other. But now, I believe Booker has come to terms with the reality: things didn’t work out, and that’s okay. What matters is that the time they spent playing together will always be remembered.
It’s easy to speculate from the outside about chemistry, locker room tension, or who wanted what. But sometimes, things don’t click the way you hope, no matter the talent.
What’s clear now is that Booker respects what they tried to build. His recent post wasn’t just a goodbye; it was a quiet nod to the bond they formed through both the highs and the disappointments.
Durant and Booker’s chapter in Phoenix is closed, but it wasn’t meaningless. It was a period filled with expectations, Olympic gold, and moments that may never appear in a trophy case but still left a lasting mark. For Booker, it seems that chapter isn’t about regret—it’s about gratitude for the ride.
I and so many of us will never understand what comes with being an NBA player, but we all know that Booker still resides in Phoenix, and players will continue to want to play with him even with the lack of success in recent years. Because through all the drama, Booker stayed silent, and now begins a new chapter with a young team and only one star.
