Turnovers plague Phoenix Suns in Game 6 loss to Dallas Mavericks

May 13, 2022 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

Turnovers plagued the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.

The Suns turned the ball over 22 times, leading to 29 points for the Mavs while Dallas only recorded six turnovers on the evening.

The Mavericks were able to even the series at 3-3 with a 113-86 win as the home team has won every game so far in the series.

Dallas was able to sprint out to a 21-8 advantage on fast break points, many of those points coming as a result of the edge in turnovers.

The Suns 44-34 advantage in points in the paint was not enough to overcome their deficiencies in turnovers and three pointers.

Four players on Dallas drained multiple three pointers while Phoenix only had one in point guard Chris Paul.

The Mavericks shot 16-for-39 from long range while the Suns were just 6-for-18.

The loss sets up the first Game 7 for the Suns since 2006 when they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 127-107 in the Western Conference semifinals.

Game 7 will be back in Phoenix at the Footprint Center on Sunday, with the tip-off time to be determined.
