Dunk of the year? We think so!
With 7:54 remaining in the third quarter of the Phoenix Suns’ 120-100 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Sunday night, Suns backup forward Cameron Johnson threw down a furious one-handed dunk over Bucks starting forward PJ Tucker for a score plus the foul.
With Milwaukee pressuring Phoenix starting point guard Chris Paul in the backcourt, Johnson inbounded the basketball, caught it at mid-court and took it coast-to-coast for the slam on Tucker, who was also called for his fourth foul of the game.
After the play, Tucker had a humorous reaction with his mouth wide open, which was likely the feeling of several fans watching the game. Milwaukee challenged the foul call but it stood after review.

“(Bucks backup guard) Pat (Connaughton) jumped Chris in the back court, which kind of left me a lot of space before the next defende,” Johnson said.” So that’s probably the most time I’ve ever had to think about what I might do with the ball in my hands in a long time. And just take advantage of opportunities, really. I saw nobody really stepped up until PJ did at the end, but just hoping they wouldn’t overturn it and call it a charge.”
Johnson tied his playoff-high with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting along with five rebounds. He was a minus-eight in 30 minutes, which was the best plus/minus of any Suns bench player who appeared more than 10 minutes.
