As the Arizona Cardinals wrap up mandatory minicamp today, there are 88 days until they play their regular-season opener at home in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
With 88 days left in the offseason, we look back at some players who have worn No. 88.
No. 88 is actually retired.
It was retired in honor of tight end J.V. Cain, who died of a congestive heart failure in Cardinals training camp on his 28th birthday in 1979.
He was coming back from an injury that kept him out of the 1978 season.
It was also worn by Sonny Randle, No. 9 in franchise history in receiving yards and No. 11 in receptions.
