A look at the Arizona Cardinals’ gains, losses in 2021 NFL free agency

March 25, 2021 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM Leave a Comment

The Arizona Cardinals entered the offseason knowing they would need to hit the grindstone hard in free agency.

A week after the free agent frenzy officially kicked off, the Cardinals look a bit different in more ways than one.

While it added to the defensive line and wide receiver room with the signings of J.J. Watt and A.J. Green, Arizona watched the secondary get even thinner with the departure of cornerback Patrick Peterson.

With the 2021 NFL Draft and start of the season on the horizon, here’s a look at how the Cardinals fared so far this offseason:

This story will be updated throughout the offseason with new signings and/or departures.

The Cardinals’ biggest splash this offseason is no doubt the addition of the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, who signed to a two-year, $28 million deal.

Watt has registered 101 sacks, 172 tackles for loss, 61 passes defensed and 282 QB hits over the course of his 10-year career (128 games).

He now jumps in the trenches with new teammate and outside linebacker Chandler Jones, who’s compiled 97 sacks and 106 tackles for loss in nine seasons.
