When the NFL draft ends each year, there is a mad scramble as teams work to add undrafted players to the roster.
If the Arizona Cardinals use all 11 of their current draft picks, unless some players are released, they won’t be very active after the draft ends Saturday.
That’s because there are 76 players on the current 90-man roster, not including tight end Bernhard Seikovits, who has an exemption as part of the International Pathway Program.
That would leave only three roster openings.
The Cardinals’ current roster includes nine players who weren’t drafted in 2023, including four from other teams: tight end Travis Vokolek (signed by Baltimore), linebacker Trevor Nowaske (Detroit), cornerback Starling Thomas V (Detroit) and cornerback Divaad Wilson (Jacksonville).
The five signed by the Cardinals are running back Emari Demercado, tight end Blake Whiteheart, wide receiver Daniel Arias, cornerback Quavian White and long snapper Matt Hembrough.
Overall, 34 players entered the NFL as undrafted players.
Here’s a look at the current roster with those undrafted indicated by an asterisk:
