Virginia Tech announced today they have hired Sam Siefkes as their new defensive coordinator.

Siefkes has been with the Arizona Cardinals for two years, prior to that he was the Minnesota Vikings assistant linebackers coach and before that he was the Vikings defensive quality control coach.
Siefkes had a history in college, where he was a defensive coordinator at Divison III UW-Platteville, before becoming a defensive coordinator at Wofford College for three seasons.
Siefkes is getting a big opportunity to coach at a power four school after a couple seasons as the linebackers coach for the Cardinals.
We will see how the Arizona Cardinals fill this position, if it will be Robert Rodriguez, the current outside linebacker coach, another position coach in the organization, or if they go outside the organization.
