The Arizona Cardinals made one small move before free agency started.
The team has agreed to a two-year contract with linebacker Tanner Vallejo according to Ian Rapoport.
The #AZCardinals are re-signing Tanner Vallejo on a 2-year, $4.1M deal, source said, bringing back the core special teamer who will also have a role as a LB in DC Vance Joseph’s defense.

Vallejo is a key special teams contributor and played well when given a shot on defense for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020.
The 26-year old Vallejo had 26 tackles and one sack on only 96 defensive snaps and 286 special teams snaps.
For the Cardinals, it is a smart move where they need someone as a key backup at inside linebackers who already knows and understands the defense.
Vallejo offers versatility, and defensive flexibility for the Cardinals and he plays fast, something the Arizona Cardinals value.
For Vallejo, it has to feel good to see his new contract nearly double his career earnings thus far.
He has had to fight hard to make it to this point, so getting a big contract, even if it is modest by NFL standards must feel like a win.
Congratulations to Vallejo and welcome back to the desert.
