One of the most obvious moves coming for the Arizona Cardinals has finally come to fruition as the Arizona Cardinals have released veteran cornerback Robert Alford.

Cardinals released CB Robert Alford, per the NFL transactions wire, which frees up $7.5M in cap space.

The move will save the Arizona Cardinals $7.5 million in cap space, which the Cardinals now will have $21.5 million in cap space.

Alford was given a big deal two years ago when the Cardinals decided to award him with a three-year $22.5 million contract.

However, Alford has never played a down for the Cardinals in the regular season, suffering two different season ending injuries during training camp/preseason.

This after he was injury riddled with the Atlanta Falcons in his final years.

It was a risk to give Alford a three year deal and the Cardinals lost on the risk. It is unfortunate, but the cornerback position has been a huge issue for the Cardinals.

Let’s hope that Alford can stay healthy in his next stop and the Cardinals can find an answer at corner.
