Arizona Cardinals reveal new jersey numbers for 2022 NFL Draft class

May 10, 2022 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

You can check off another to-do item for the Arizona Cardinals’ 2022 NFL Draft class.

The team announced the crop’s new numbers for the season on Monday.

Second-round tight end Trey McBride will sport No. 85, while Arizona’s pair of third-round pass rushers in Cameron Thomas and Myjai Sanders are set to rock Nos 97 and 41, respectively.

As for sixth-rounder Keaontay Ingram, the running back will wear No. 30. Fellow sixth-rounder and offensive lineman Lecitus Smith is going back to his college days with No. 54.

Seventh-rounders Christian Matthew and Jesse Luketa also changed things up from their time in college, going with Nos. 35 and 43, respectively.

And with No. 54 off the board, seventh-round lineman Marquis Hayes opted for No. 78.

The news of the rookies’ jersey numbers comes after the team announced wide receiver Marquise Brown would sport No. 2 in his first year in the desert.

The Cardinals added Brown during Day 1 of the draft after trading the 23rd overall pick in exchange for the wideout and the 100th overall pick, which was used on Thomas.

The jersey changes won’t stop there, either.

With McBride taking No. 85, wide receiver Antoine Wesley is now in the market for some new digits.

The same can be said for tight end David Wells, who was No. 41 last season.
