The Arizona Cardinals finally signed a cornerback, as the team has agreed to terms with veteran Malcolm Butler.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has agreed to terms with cornerback Malcolm Butler on a one-year contract. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Butler (5-11, 190) is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2015-16) and second-team All-Pro honoree (2016) who is entering his eighth year in the NFL after playing with Tennessee (2018-20) and New England (2014-17). He played the past three seasons with the Titans and appeared in 41 games (36 starts), including starting all 16 games last season where he set a career-high with 100 tackles while leading the team with 14 passes defensed and tying for the team lead with four interceptions.

The 31-year old Butler entered the league with New England as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2014 out of West Alabama and spent his first four NFL seasons in the league with the Patriots where he won two Super Bowls (2014, ’16) and made his first Pro Bowl (2015). As a rookie in 2014, Butler made one of the most iconic plays in Super Bowl history in Super Bowl XLIX at State Farm Stadium when he intercepted Russell Wilson’s pass at the goal line with under a minute to play to clinch the Patriots championship victory.

In his career, Butler has appeared in 100 regular season games (84 starts) and has 17 interceptions, 390 tackles, 84 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He has also played in 12 playoff games and has 42 tackles, 10 passes defensed and two interceptions
