The Arizona Cardinals have had a busy day.

After finally agreeing to terms with a veteran cornerback in Malcolm Butler, the team has now traded former starting center Mason Cole to the Minnesota Vikings per a report from Mark Sanchez:

Sources tell me Center Mason Cole traded from @AZCardinals to the @Vikings details to follow @NFL @4th_and_forever @GOATfarmmedia

The Vikings plan is to play the former third round pick at guard according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport:

This is true. The #Vikings may play him at guard. https://t.co/q85Xn9kWwz

The amazing thing for the Cardinals is, they found a way to get a draft pick out of the Vikings, while dealing a player they no longer had a spot for after trading for Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson, and on top of that will be saving $2.2 million in cap space.

The #AZCardinals are trading OL Mason Cole to the #Vikings in exchange for a 6th rounder, source said.

The Cardinals former third round pick saw action in 46 games in his three seasons with the team, starting 32 games for the Cardinals.

He never was able to lock down the center position, and a fresh start in a new city at a new position may be just what the doctor ordered.

Kudos to the Cardinals for getting the sixth round pick (#223) and good luck to Cole in his next stop.
