One of the biggest questions of the offseason for the Arizona Cardinals was what they should do with Patrick Peterson.
The eight time Pro Bowl cornerback and future Hall of Famer was a free agent and the Cardinals desperately needed help at cornerback.
They went a different direction and Cardinals fans seemed mostly happy to move on from Peterson.
Bleacher Report looked at players who could disappoint in 2021 and they tend to agree with the decision that the Cardinals made.
The Vikings inked the eight-time Pro Bowler to a one-year, $8 million deal that includes $5.9 million in guarantees. What they’re getting is a 30-year-old defender who has been merely average over the past couple of seasons.
In 2019 and 2020, Peterson allowed an opposing passer rating of 99.2 and 98.2, respectively. His best days as a cover corner appear to be behind Peterson, and that should be disappointing to anyone hoping to see the Pro Bowl version of Peterson in Purple and Gold this season.
It seems like most of the concern for B/R happens to be around older players trying to cash in one more time.
They see A.J. Green disappointing for a similar reason.
What do you think, will Patrick Peterson disappoint for the Minnesota Vikings?
