One of the top remaining free agents has officially come off the board. Moments ago, the Arizona Cardinals announced a new one-year contract for wide receiver A.J. Green.
Green signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals in 2021. In his first season with the team, the Georgia product had 54 receptions for 848 yards and three touchdowns.
Bringing back Green for the 2022 season makes a lot of sense. The Cardinals already lost Christian Kirk this offseason, so they’ll need to keep some of their depth intact at wide receiver.
Despite being past his prime, Green remains a productive player who can stretch the field. In fact, his yards per reception average in 2021 was his highest mark since his rookie year.

The exact terms of Green’s one-year deal aren’t available at this time.
With Green officially back in Arizona, the Cardinals’ need for a wide receiver isn’t as dire.
As of now, the Cardinals will enter the 2022 season with A.J. Green, DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore as their top wideouts.
