Breaking: Former Seahawks First Round Pick Could Be On Trade Block

August 11, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After repairing the entire defensive line, the Arizona Cardinals may put LJ Collier on the trade block before the 2025 regular season. The Cardinals have plenty of new talent, including Calais Campbell, Josh Sweat and Walter Nolen, which doesn’t leave a lot of room for Collier to secure a shot to last on this roster. This is why Bleacher Report believes the Cardinals should put Collier on the trade block to see what they could get in return, even if it’s for a late-round draft pick. Originally selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, the former TCU product did sign a one-year extension this offseason after putting up 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

However, it wasn’t too long before in 2023 that he wasn’t able to stay healthy. Perhaps, they could dangle him on the trade block to see if they could garner some potential suitors. Realistically, they may keep him until his contract expires, but when you have guys like BJ Ojulari returning, the Cardinals might not use Collier as much as they want. Collier isn’t the most explosive name in the league, which is why they might not get much in return. Despite that, it could be worth the gamble for these five teams.

Breaking: Former Seahawks First Round Pick LJ Collier Could Be On Trade Block – 5 Possible Next Teams

Best Fits

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens defense hasn’t been the same in recent memory, as they lost a few capable run stoppers like Jadeveon Clowney and Geno Stone. The losses continue to pile up this offseason as Malik Harrison is joining rival, the Steelers. With that, the Ravens should figure out a way to navigate this transition and get a few capable defensive linemen under a cheap, one-year contract. After signing John Jenkins to replace Michael Pierce, this might not be enough, and even if Collier doesn’t do much, it’s better than what they have now on defense.

Dallas Cowboys

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are still struggling in their run defense, and it was shown in their first preseason matchup of the year. It might only be just “preseason,” but habits might continue to build, and maybe Collier could help rotate in the middle alongside Solomon Thomas. Osa Odighizuwa is one of the best gap runners, and Collier might be a fresh breath of air for this trenches unit.

Los Angeles Chargers

It’s been arguably a disappointing offseason for the Los Angeles Chargers as far as adding defensive linemen. Despite signing Da’Shawn Hand and re-signing Bud Dupree, the Chargers need someone other than Teair Tart who can make an impact. They’ll never be a reliable trench unit if they refuse to upgrade. Collier doesn’t need to be the best defensive lineman out there, but at least give the Chargers a fighting chance to be physical.

Carolina Panthers

However, the Carolina Panthers have made several moves in the defensive line, signing Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown. They’ve been reluctant to improve the edge rushing department since they released Jadeveon Clowney and Josey Jewell this offseason. Collier is no linebacker, but his presence could be critical to put the Panthers over the top as one of the most dangerous threats in the NFC.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints will be leaning on their defense to keep them alive in each matchup this upcoming 2025 campaign. After acquiring Davon Godchaux and signing Jonathan Bullard, it’s clear what the blueprint will be. Collier could finally help on that edge rush between Chase Young and Khalen Saunders.
