Cardinals’ Budda Baker, DeAndre Hopkins make NFL All-Pro teams

January 8, 2021 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM Leave a Comment

Safety Budda Baker and receiver DeAndre Hopkins represent the Arizona Cardinals on the 2020 Associated Press NFL All-Pro teams that were released Friday.

The duo lived up to the expectations after they each signed historic extensions relative to their positions this past year.

Baker made first team and tied Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the voting. Joining them on the first team was Baker’s former Arizona teammate, Tyrann Mathieu of the Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s Baker’s second All-Pro honor, as he made the first team in 2017 as a rookie special teams player.

In 2020, Baker finished fourth in the NFL with 90 solo tackles. He tallied 118 total tackles with two interceptions, two sacks, a forced fumble and six passes defensed.

Hopkins, in his first season with the Cardinals, adds to his long list of accolades in his career. He made the first team as an All-Pro from 2017-19 with the Houston Texans and earned a second team nod in 2020. Hopkins also made the second team in 2015.

The wideout finished fourth in the NFL with 1,407 receiving yards and six touchdowns this year.

The Green Bay Packers’ Davante Adams, Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs and Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill made the AP All-Pro First Team.

Hopkins was joined on the second team by Minnesota Vikings rookie Justin Jefferson, the Atlanta Falcons’ Calvin Ridley, the Seattle Seahawks’ D.K. Metcalf and Buffalo’s Cole Beasley. Hopkins fell just three points short of Hill’s 24 to make the first team.

If you not 1st your last. Work to do.
