Kyler Murray took one step forward on Thursday to playing on Sunday.
Murray has been dealing with an ankle injury these past few weeks. He missed games against the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals went 1-1 in those games.
Arizona is now gearing up for a pivotal NFC West battle against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. It’s still unclear if Murray will give it a go, but he’s making progress towards a return.
Murray practiced for the second straight day on Thursday. That’s a strong indication he’ll be available to play on Sunday, but it’s still unclear whether or not he’ll suit up.

The Arizona Cardinals missed Kyler Murray in a 34-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
It’s no secret they’d like their star quarterback to return to the lineup this weekend. But even Murray isn’t going to rush back to action.
“Understanding what we’re really here for. Obviously, if you can’t go, you can’t go, and then if you can, you let it ride,” Murray said earlier this week, via ESPN.com. “I’m not putting too much pressure on the decision to play or not. If I can play, I’ll play.”
That’s not to suggest Kyler Murray isn’t itching to get back out on the football field.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters this week that Murray’s basically been living in the weight room since his injury.
“He’s worked hard to get back,” Kingsbury said. “I mean, he’s living in the training room, and that’s all you can ask. He wants to be playing, he’s super competitive, but he knows it’s a long season.
If there’s any concern about Murray’s status, the Cardinals will keep him out of action this Sunday.
