The summer break for the Arizona Cardinals has unfortunately gotten some unwanted attention and it focuses on their first-round draft pick.
Linebacker Zaven Collins, the team’s top selection in the 2021 NFL draft, was arrested in Scottsdale Sunday, accused of reckless driving.
TMZ first reported the arrest and it has been confirmed by various outlets.
Collins was allegedly speeding and driving dangerously. Per the TMZ report, he was booked Sunday night and released a short time later.
There is no report of him being under the influence.
Collins recently signed his rookie contract, worth nearly $14.7 million.
The team broke for the summer but rookies typically still have work to do at the team facility usually for a couple of weeks after minicamp. Minicamp concluded June 10.
At the time of publishing, there were no other details of the arrest and the team had not released any statement yet.
