Cardinals take NFC West lead with win vs. Miami, Seattle’s loss to Buffalo

October 28, 2024 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

The Arizona Cardinals took down the Miami Dolphins 28-27 on Sunday, marking back-to-back wins for the first time since 2021.

And if things couldn’t get any better for Valley fans, the Seattle Seahawks lost to the Buffalo Bills, meaning Arizona sits atop the NFC West due to division record.

The Cardinals and Seahawks both sit at 4-4 on the season, and if the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, there will be a three-way tie for first place, in which the Cardinals hold the tiebreaker over the other two teams.

For a team that has seen much adversity throughout the injury department for much of the season, 4-4 is nothing to snooze at for Arizona.

On Sunday, quarterback Kyler Murray connected with receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. for six catches (seven targets) and 111 yards. He also incorporated Trey McBride, who had nine catches for 124 yards. Murray finished with 307 passing yards and two touchdowns on 26-of-36 passing in the win.

Miami converted 11 of 15 third downs, signaling room for improvement on the defensive side of things.

But then again, there’s also a reason to believe.

Arizona’s next four opponents? The Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Seattle and the Minnesota Vikings.

This is the perfect time for the Cardinals to capitalize on a thin(ish) schedule and potentially make a run for a division title, something they haven’t done since 2015.
