Cardinals’ Ward, Packers’ Hill carted off field after scary collision on kickoff

October 29, 2021 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

Even in today’s NFL with modern rules to help the safety of players, big collisions can still take place.

In Thursday night’s 24-21 loss to Green Bay at State Farm Stadium, Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Ward drilled Packers’ Kylin Hill as the latter was returning a kickoff in the third quarter.

Carts came out for both players, who required assistance from medical personnel to be safely removed from the playing field.

Ward had his facemask removed and was placed on the board before giving the Red Sea a thumbs up.

He was being evaluated for a concussion and neck injury, but has shown movement in his extremities.

Hill was put on the board and ruled out with a knee injury. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Friday morning that Hill suffered an ACL tear, which ends his season.
