Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. in concussion protocol ahead of Monday Night Football

October 15, 2024 by ArizonaSports.com - 98.7 FM

TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. entered the concussion protocol after a hit in Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Monday.

Harrison was helped off the field in the second quarter after taking a shot to the head on an incomplete pass, as his helmet crashed into the upper leg of Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.

The rookie fell back down after standing up before being tended to. He entered the blue medical tent, walked back to the locker room and was ruled out with a concussion.

Harrison finished the game without a catch on two targets.

Fellow Cardinals who suffered injuries included starting linebacker Kyzir White (knee), defensive tackle Bilal Nichols (stinger), left guard Evan Brown (ankle) and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (neck).

Gannon said there was nothing too crazy on the injury front that would rule anyone out for Week 7 this early.

The Cardinals also have a bit more time before their next game, as they will host Monday Night Football against the Jim Harbaugh-led Los Angeles Chargers.

“Still sorting through everything right now,” Gannon said. “The good news, we got an extra day to heal up, so we got a little bit of time to see who will be ready to go and who won’t be ready to go. But everything’s looking pretty good.”

Defensive lineman Darius Robinson, Arizona’s second 2024 first-round pick after Harrison, enters his second week of practice off injured reserve (calf). Gannon didn’t give any expectations, saying the team will see how it goes with him this week.

The first injury report for the Cardinals this week will come out on Thursday with game statuses on Saturday with the altered schedule.
