ESPN Computer Predicts Who Will Finish With NFL’s Worst Record

There are a handful of truly dreadful teams right now. Between the New York Giants’ toothless offense, the Denver Broncos’ dreadful defense, the Chicago Bears being a mess from top to bottom and the Carolina Panthers rebuilding, the race to the bottom of the league is going to be an interesting one.

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) has done the math and made a calculation as to who will come out with the worst record this season.

According to the ESPN computer model, the Carolina Panthers will just edge out the Arizona Cardinals for the worst record in the league. ESPN’s FPI projects a record of 3.8-13.2 for the Panthers, while Arizona finishes with a 3.9-13.1 record.

Carolina currently have the worst record in the NFL at 0-6 while the Cardinals are tied for the second-worst at 1-5. However, Carolina would get no benefit from finishing with the worst record in the league.

This past offseason the Panthers traded their first-round pick to the Chicago Bears in order to draft Bryce Young out of Alabama.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals seem to remain sold on Kyler Murray being their franchise quarterback.

It stands to reason that neither one of them will be having Roger Goodell head to the podium with their card come April.
