The Arizona Cardinals brought in a long snapper to compete with their veteran.
Happy Friday one and all.
The Arizona Cardinals made a plethora of moves in their 12 person 2024 NFL Draft, that followed up their nine-man 2023 NFL Draft class, and all nine are still with the team.
That explains the three-man practice squad for the 2024 NFL Draft class.
Today, we take a look at another of the Arizona Cardinals undrafted free agents.
Joe Shimko, an intriguing long-snapping prospect from North Carolina State.
Shimko (6-0, 233) snapped in 62 games over the past five seasons at N.C. State and won the Patrick Mannelly Award following the 2023 season as the nation’s top long snapper. A three-time All-American selection, Shimko was named second-team All-American in each of the past two seasons. He finished his college career with 12 total tackles on special teams and was perfect on all 607 snaps while at N.C. State.
We will see if the size of Shimko is an issue, but he has been a great snapper for five years.
Welcome to the desert, Joe and good luck.
