Greg Dortch Contract

NFL veteran wide receiver Greg Dortch signed a new contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Dortch spent the 2022 season with the Arizona Cardinals but has also played for the Carolina Panthers. The former undrafted rookie has been on the practice squads of the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and Atlanta Falcons.

The 2022 season was a breakout year for Dortch. The former Wake Forest prospect was massively hyped up during the offseason and flexed his improvements during the preseason. He started the season as the team’s third-string wide receiver thanks to DeAndre Hopkins’ suspension. Dortch finished the year having played in 16 games (starting four) and accumulating 467 yards and two touchdowns on 52 receptions. He also rushed for 44 yards on seven carries. Dortch’s run-after-catch ability and versatility to line up on the perimeter, in the slot and in the backfield were particularly impressive. He was one of the lone bright spots on Arizona’s offense. He earned a respectable 64.2 PFF grade on the season.

At Wake Forest, Dortch put up some impressive numbers and flashed some great traits. As a redshirt sophomore, he scored eight touchdowns and managed over 1,000 receiving yards on 89 catches. His two punt-return touchdowns meant that he was named an All-American return specialist in 2018.

Despite this, Dortch went undrafted in 2018 but was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent. He was waived and re-signed to the practice squad that year despite a promising camp. The Panthers signed Dortch off the Jets practice squad but was waived later in the season. 2022 was the first year that Dortch saw significant playing time. In 2021, Dortch’s first year in Arizona, he played five games (starting twice) and managed just 39 total yards. Prior to joining the Cardinals, the receiver played in just two NFL games (starting none). It was a slow start, but Dortch was finally able to show the NFL what he was made of.
