Check out the RAS profiles of the top 27 ranked WRs
The WR pictured above is Washington’s Ja’Lynn Polk. You might have heard of him. This week on Brett Kollmann’s Bootleg Football Podcast, Mina Kimes spoke at length about how she believes Ja’Lynn Polk will be the steal of the 2024 NFL Draft. Polk currently sits as PFF’s 48th ranked player and 12th ranked WR.
This has to be the most phenomenally deep draft pool of WRs in NFL history. Here are the Relative Athletic Scores (RAS), thanks to Kent Lee Platte and the players’ RAS rankings out of 3,402 WRs from 1987 to 2024 (since the Cardinals moved to Arizona). Plus, each WR’s PFF ranking.

Conclusions:
- That’s 27 WRs ranked in PFF’s top 150.
- That’s 20 WRs ranked in PFF’s Top 100 (1/5)
How deep is this pool?
It is a veritable Mariana Trench.
ROTB Questions:
That said —- give us your answers to these questions:
- Which WR will have the most productive star-studded NFL career?
- Which of these WRs do you think will be the biggest steal?
- Which of these WRs (drafted in Day 2 or 3) in your opinion will come the closest to being this year’s Puka Nacua?
Puka Nacua is a WR prospect in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 5.17 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1474 out of 3048 WR from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/id4MVauhiB pic.twitter.com/sIaZwKNonM
— Kent Lee Platte (@MathBomb) April 16, 2023
This is unreal!
Puka Nacua was drafted last year by the Rams in the 5th round at pick #177.
Here were his rookie accolades:
Nacua set 3 NFL records for rookie WRs:
- Most receptions: 105
- Most receiving yards: 1,486
- Most receiving yards in a single playoff game: 181
Again, unreal!
While the RAS scores are very interesting to look at and to compare/contrast —- in today’s NFL it’s not the size and speed of the dog in the fight —- it’s the size and speed of the fight in the dog.
Puka Nacus is living proof.
Who was the last WR to be named Super Bowl MVP?
Puka’s teammate Cooper Kupp
