Kyler Murray continues to blow up, and it’s not surprising to see his rising fame on the field turn into more opportunities off it.
A new Nissan Heisman House commercial that appeared to release during Monday Night Football this week featured the Arizona Cardinals quarterback taking a ride with fellow former Heisman winner Tim Tebow.
And while Murray has appeared in multiple Heisman House commercials, this is his most featured one yet. In it, he gets to one-up one of the most famous college football players of the century.
How’d Murray improve from his rookie year to his second season?
He worked on his anticipation, he tells Tebow in the commercial.
“So are you …” begins Tebow, before Murray cuts him off.
“… enjoying life in the house? Always,” Murray says.
“Is …” starts Tebow again.
“… my family doing good? Yeah, thanks for asking,” Murray interrupts again.
Murray tells Tebow to pick up the phone that has yet to ring, then has a conversation with Tebow’s mom — “Mrs. T” to Kyler — before she can get more than a word out.
From there, he rattles off a few more answers before Tebow can get a word out.
Indeed the timing of the commercial’s release, which Murray posted to his social media pages on Thursday, comes at a timely point in the season for him. Several ESPN social media accounts posted Murray’s stat line for the year next to 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson.
Murray has more yards, a higher QBR and seven more touchdowns than Jackson did at this point last year.
