Kyler Murray has a chance of playing vs. Seahawks

November 16, 2021 by Cards Wire

The Arizona Cardinals have played their last two games without starting quarterback Kyler Murray, who has been out with an ankle injury. They are 1-1 in those two games.

There is a chance he will be able to return to action in Week 11, as the Cardinals travel to Seattle to take on the rival Seahawks.

However, it is far from certain.

“It’s going to be close,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Monday. “I’m not sure if he’ll be able to go and play his game or not, but I’m hopeful.”

Murray said last week he had made “crazy progress,” but Kingbury said after the game on Sunday that Murray “was not ready to play.”

They don’t need him to be 100% but he needs to be well enough that he can move around behind the line of scrimmage to extend plays and not have to worry about reinjuring the ankle.

Backup quarterback Colt McCoy is also injured. He has a pectoral strain, but he is expected to be fine and should be able to play if Murray can’t make the start.
