Joshua Dobbs is doing his best Patrick Mahomes impression against the New York Giants this afternoon.

Through one-and-a-half quarters, Dobbs has hit on 10-of-14 passes for 134 yards and added a touchdown rushing as the Arizona Cardinals have jumped out to a 17-0 lead over New York.

Dobbs’ early performance has gotten football fans and media talking.

“Josh Dobbs= power back,” said PFF in response to Dobbs’ touchdown run in which he trucked Giants safety Xavier McKinney.

“2023 starting QB pay in Cardinals-Giants game: Josh Dobbs: $1.5 million Daniel Jones: $46 million,” noted former NFL executive Andrew Brandt.

“I would take a bullet for Josh Dobbs,” said football Twitter personality Dirtbag Queer.

“Wink Martindale’s Giants defense is making Joshua Dobbs look like a $40 million a year QB,” said longtime writer Ian O’Connor.

Arizona entered the season as the expected favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick, but they played the Washington Commanders tough in Week 1 before losing and are currently beating the Giants by three scores.

Perhaps they, and Dobbs, will be a little better than people thought, or at least won’t fall apart until later in the year.
