Aaron Rodgers, Packers Reportedly Agree To Reworked Deal

July 30, 2021 by The Spun

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers against Philadelphia.

On Thursday afternoon, the NFL world was glued to the press conference of one Aaron Rodgers.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback finally reported to training camp and sat down with reporters in the afternoon. He opened up on why he was unhappy with the organization and what his future plans were.

Earlier this offseason it seemed like Rodgers would never suit up for the Packers again. However, Green Bay reportedly made a few concessions to the reigning NFL MVP – including trading for wide receiver Randall Cobb.

But that’s not all. On Thursday afternoon, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport revealed Rodgers and the Packers agreed to a re-worked contract.

Now all Rodgers has to do is sign.

The news comes after Rodgers reportedly wanted the Packers to re-work his deal allowing him to become a free agent after the 2021 season.

It’s unclear if that’s what the two sides agreed to, however, it would behoove the Packers to agree to whatever Rodgers wants at this point. Green Bay likely made it so that the team can trade Rodgers when the 2021 season comes to a close.

Earlier this week, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst suggested that Rodgers will have a major say in where he is traded to – if that’s what the team decides to do.
