Aaron Rodgers Shares Honest Admission On His Engagement

Aaron Rodgers decided to return to the Green Bay Packers after a contentious offseason that was defined by tension between him and the organization. The 2020 MVP sounds excited to be back around his teammates and is eager to play, but will now be apart from his fiancée, Shailene Woodley, for at least a little while.

Although Rodgers isn’t thrilled to be apart from Woodley, he does believe that it will be a good thing for both of their careers.

“It’s a busy work time for her, so [my decision] probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work,” Rodgers told Haute Living in an interview published Thursday.

“I think it’s going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year [during the coronavirus pandemic], and she’s booked a number of projects. She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too.”

Rodgers can also find some happiness in the fact that he shouldn’t have to be without his fiancée for the entire 2021 season. Earlier this week, a report revealed that Woodley, 29, plans to join the Packers quarterback after she’s done shooting for the comedy movie Robots in Albuquerque, New Mexico sometime this fall.

“When she wraps, she plans to support him throughout his season,” a source close to Rodgers told E! News. “They don’t like to be apart for too long and are looking forward to being back in the same place again.”

In the meantime, Rodgers will focus solely on football with the NFL season just over a week away. His Packers have Super Bowl aspirations and it’ll be up to him to bring the team back to the championship game.

Green Bay will kick-off the 2021 season next Sunday afternoon. against the New Orleans Saints.
