Washington Capitals fans are holding their breath on Sunday night, as Alex Ovechkin left the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an injury.
Ovechkin, who scored his 50th goal of the season earlier this month, left the Sunday night game with an apparent upper-body injury.
The Capitals announced he will not return.

Capitals fans are understandably worried.
“Ooh man! Not good. Hoping it isn’t a serious injury for Ovi,” one fan tweeted.
“Declare war on Canada by morning,” another fan joked on Twitter.
“Sick. To. My. Stomach. Genuinely can’t remember a time an injury has felt so devastating,” one fan added on Twitter.

The Capitals, who have already clinched a playoff spot, will hopefully have more on Ovechkin’s status following the game.
