One Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver is going to have a new position heading into the 2022 season.
Per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, JJ Arcega-Whiteside will be a tight end moving forward.
JJ Arcega-Whiteside is moving from receiver to tight end, according to an NFL source.
With the #Eagles’ offseason program set to begin Monday, the former second rounder has embraced the transition to a new position.

Arcega-Whiteside has been with the Eagles for the last three seasons but hasn’t produced. The former second-round pick is coming off a 2021 season where he only had 36 yards on two receptions.
Before that, he finished the 2020 season with 85 yards on four receptions. As a rookie in 2019, he finished with 169 yards and a touchdown off of 10 receptions.
He’ll be given an opportunity to win a spot at that position, even though Dallas Goedert is expected to be the starter.
With this move, the Eagles will surely have to draft another receiver to fill Arcega-Whiteside’s void. They have two top-20 picks in the first round to work with to accomplish that goal.
Philadelphia finished the 2021 season with a 9-8 record in Nick Sirianni’s first year at the helm.
